So.......did you notice we have been slacking?

So, this is a new adventure for Fancy and I, and we are trying to figure out exactly how to fit this blog into our otherwise busy lives. As you can see, we are still working out the kinks. In order to make this a bit easier on Fancy and I, we have come up with a new "schedule" for posts to the blog. Every Monday expect to see something from me. This could be just about anything craft related, as you have probably already figured out I'm a bit eclectic when it comes to what I enjoy. On Wednesday Fancy will be here to entertain you. Friday is your Two-fer day when you will get something from each of us. We will try and keep it on some kind of "topic" but we are two totally different people, so it may just be a random mix of both of us.

So, Once again, here is the new schedule (Starting Monday!)
Monday- Sassy
Wednesday- Fancy
Friday- Two Mrs!

And just because this is our schedule doesn't mean that this is the only times you will see us. Every once in a while there is just something so new, unique, glittery, or ___________  (fill in your own adjective here!) that we just can't wait to share. For those special occasions that you definitely don't want to miss, please make sure you scroll all the way to the bottom of this page and subscribe.

Ok, have a wonderful Holiday weekend (and yes, I know Monday is a Holiday, but I'm not about to fail in my first week!). See you Monday!

A quick and easy Sunday.....Just a little tip for you silhouette users

So, how does that song go? "It's Easy Like Sunday Morning." That is my motto for the day. I always need a break by the time Sunday rolls around. With Jr. Pants playing football this fall, it seems like we are constantly on the go. So, in keeping with today's relaxation theme, here is just a quick and easy little tip for those of you who have the Cameo.

First off, I have to say that this is also my chance to "tattle" on Fancy. I know she is going to be upset with me, but we are friends, she'll get over it!:)

Late last weekend I was busy doing something with the family and after a while I checked my phone. I had two missed calls, 6 texts, and a couple missed Skype attempts. WHAT??? After a little more research I discovered it was Fancy. Assuming the worst, I texted her immediately. What did she need? She had accidentally thrown away that adjustment cap that comes with each and every cameo blade and she needed to adjust her blade so she could cut that AMAZING!!!!! pencil cup out of the glitter cardstock. (I think we should build houses out of that stuff. I've cut cereal boxes with my blade set less than 10)!  She needed to change her blade setting and did not have the gray plastic ratchet that comes with the blade packet.

Sassy to the Rescue!

See, it's as easy as that. Next time you need to change your blade setting on the blade, use the funny looking hole at the front left of your machine.

And now throw all those little gray plastic ratchets away! (unless you can figure out some cool craft to make with them, and if that is the case, send the idea to Fancy and Sassy!!!!!)

Have a great week,

Cheap and Easy Wall Art & Glitter Love

I had an entire Saturday to myself this past weekend so what girl doesn't decide to go to Hobby Lobby and wander the store for hours?  Well that's what I did and I didn't have anyone asking me why I have to go down the same aisle multiple times.I found a lot of good stuff, so be prepared for a ton of awesome posts!

I came across this awesome scrapbook paper and their entire stock was 50% off, uh yes please! I also love gold. Gold everything. Just wait, you may get sick of it!  At first I had no idea what I wanted to do with it then I figured it would be perfect for a cheap and super easy DIY wall art.

Next in my mission was an inexpensive 12x12 frame.  Walmart to the rescue for this $7 frame!
I popped in the scrapbook paper and voila! Instant easy and cheap wall art.  Now the question is where do I want it?
I kind of liked it here on our entryway table between two of our pictures.
Because I felt like the wall art was so easy I wanted to post another project.  I had seen this pencil cup file in the Silhouette Design Store and I also stocked up on some gold glitter card stock at Hobby Lobby on the same trip.  Gold? Glitter? Are you surprised? Yeah, me either!

I set the blade to 10 after a lot of trial and error.  I would say you will most likely need to cut it twice even with the cut settings set to "double cut".  I tried to get a good picture of the glitter card stock I got, but you can't really tell how thick this stuff is.  Maybe if you have the Curio this would be easier to cut.  Or save yourself a few hundred bucks and buy thinner glitter card stock.

So I may or may not have forgot to take a picture once it finished cutting and I weeded it, oops!  I bent the tabs up and used my hot glue gun to glue the two pieces together.  Now you have yourself a fun glittered pencil holder!
I hope you enjoyed this Friday post and maybe you will be inspired to make one of these projects this weekend.  If you do I would love to see them! Have a great weekend :)

This past weekend's project.......A new bench and storage locker.

So, storage is always an issue with the Sassy family. With a very active 11 year old boy, we seem to have piles of stuff: School stuff, football stuff, Xbox stuff, and shoes. That kid has more shoes than I do! That is saying a lot. So, to combat all the clutter, we (meaning myself and the lucky man who married me) chose to build a new storage solution for our living room. The plan was to have a place to put shoes and a backpack, as well as an out of the way place for all those annoying things I find all over my house (like tools from Mr. Sassy, and Nerf darts from the Sassy in training).

This project seemed to fit the bill. First up, a storage bench. This has a cubby specifically sized for the HUGE backpack Jr. Sassy needs to keep all his school stuff together, as well as a couple shelves for his shoes. My plan is to soon sew a cushion for the top so it can be a window seat as well. That way when the boys in my life have to crowd around the computer screen to play/watch one of the annoying games or YouTube videos that are constantly on in my house, they don't have to drag the dining room chairs across my hard wood floors into the living room!

Now, see all that empty space to the left, well that is the perfect spot to put a large storage "locker" for a few coats, a school ID, some baskets to collect the stuff I find around the house, and, at my hubby's insistence, a charging station for the multiple electronics and phones we seem to constantly have plugged in on my kitchen counter! (Of course he just wanted the charging station, the rest was totally at my insistence!). So after a quick trip to Home Depot (which is starting to show up on my bank statements almost as much as Michael's!) we got to work on this little beauty.

It took an extra day, but I insisted on paint and doors before I showed you the final project. I did decide to share without the seat cushion (mostly because in my yards and yards of fabric stash, I don't have any fabric that matches). So, without further ado, here is the finished project. I have to say, I'm rather proud!

So remember when I told you all I was not a professional crafter? The same thing goes for woodworking. (Thank goodness I didn't have to show you all the mistakes I made in the cutting sizes for these pieces!) I am definitely not a smart enough furniture builder to have figured this out myself (although I will say that I am getting much better at it!). Instead, I was lucky enough to stumble across this lovely building site. I had to do some tweaking of the plans because they didn't exactly fit my space, but the majority of the idea for this project came from the plans Ana and her cohorts have been kind enough to supply. So, if you are interested in building the charging locker, check out the plans here and the bench can be found here (I only used the bench portion). So, the projects took less than four hours of my weekend (the doors and hooks and hardware took some of my Monday night as well). Well worth it and I feel a little more organized, not to mention hubby and I spent some quality time together. Can't ask for a better way to spend the weekend than that! So, roust your man off the couch, or even better, grab a few tools and do it yourself. Trust me, the feeling of accomplishment is wonderful!

Meet Mrs Fancy Pants

Thanks Mrs. Sassy for the lead in and introduction to our blog!  I am so thrilled to be on this journey with Sassy and I hope you enjoy following along with us.  I am a twenty something wife to a car loving husband.  We have one "child", Shaggy, our Cockapoo.  I am a shopping addict and will use any free time I have to find a great deal.  My husband would probably say I hardly ever finish a craft project and I know he would say I definitely can't do one without him.  I just like to make him feel that I need him, but I got to be honest, he does provide some good input.  I guess I will keep him around after all.

I really hope Sassy can keep me on my toes and maybe this blog will get me crafting and finishing those projects I have been waiting to do.  My craft supply, tools, and machines are ever growing.  Like I said I like to shop!  I have a Silhouette Cameo, a Brother embroidery machine, and Brother Sewing Machine.  I may be a monogram/personalized addict as well, ask Sassy!  I typically like to make personalized gifts and home decor, but I am up for any challenge.  If you got an idea, let me be your guinea pig.

I don't have a fancy craft room like Sassy, but my basement serves as my haven.  Wait, I am Mrs. Fancy Pants, I guess that needs to change!  My goal is that for early Spring I can share with you all my new work area if I can get the hubby to help refinish the basement. :)

I am a bit of a perfectionist, the type A in me comes out often when I craft so if I say I am working on a project for a couple of weeks, that is just because it needs to be 100% on point before I share.  Anyone else like that? There's gotta be plenty of people like me out there!

We can't wait to get to know you so be on the lookout for us on Instagram, Facebook, Periscope and more!

Welcome to Two Mrs- Introduction to Mrs. Sassy Pants

Welcome all my crafty friends! (and a very special welcome to those of you who were kind enough to follow me over from my previous site The Weekend Stamper)! I'm so happy and excited to be here! I'm an avid crafter and after spending almost ten years working with Stampin' Up! exclusively, I'm excited to be able to stretch my wings and dabble in all things creative. My craft room recently got a major overhaul. I know you didn't see it before, but trust me, this is a major improvement and I now have room for all the wonderful supplies and machines that I will be using to hopefully fill this blog with.

As you can see from the picture, I'm organized (at least for me!) and ready to craft! I will put out this disclaimer, I am not a professional crafter (heck, some people would argue I'm not a professional anything :) ). I am a very enthusiastic hobbyist at the most, but trust me, I won't let that stop us from learning something new.  I am hoping that by using this blog, as well as some other great social media opportunities (like Periscope, Facebook, Instagram etc.) we can all get together and get those creative juices flowing. Some of the supplies I have at my beck and call are a Silhouette Cameo, a Big Shot, a Xyron, a Bind-it-All, A heat press, and soon to be in my grubby little hands, a Fuse and an Embroidery Machine. I also have at my disposal a very crafty builder hubby, so don't be surprised if you see a few wood working projects on my posts as well (Yep, he did build my entire craft room from scratch, although I participated by creating the blueprints!)

Just in case you want an idea of what kind of crafts I'm talking about, these are just a few I've made recently. As you can see, it's a pretty eclectic mix, but that just means there will be a little something for everyone!

I want this to be a very interactive blog, so feel free to ask questions, send in requests for tutorials, and most of all get out that stuff that's been sitting in your closet and start using it! So make sure to send in lots of emails to, Finally, as I'm sure you have realized from the title, I'm not alone in this endeavor. I have my very crafty and creative friend Mrs. Fancy Pants joining me for the ride. Between the two of us, we should keep you entertained if not enlightened. So, without any further ado, I'll let you meet my good friend and part time princess, Mrs. Fancy Pants!

See you soon!
